The Meteorological Department said that isolated higher elevations of North and Central Kashmir may receive very light snowfall from December 13 to 17.
It said that while the weather is likely to be partly to mostly cloudy on December 18 and 19, there is a possibility of light rain/snowfall at scattered places in the valley on December 20-21 when ‘Chillai Kalan’, the 40-day harshest winter season, sets in.
Shallow to moderate fog is likely to persist at many places in the valley for the next few days, the MeT office added.
