IndiGo, facing significant operational disruptions, on Thursday (December 11, 2025) announced that it will offer travel vouchers worth ₹10,000 to every passenger whose flights were canceled or long-delayed during December 3-5.
The compensation would be in addition to the amount to be given to passengers for flight cancellation as per DGCA norms.
In a statement, IndiGo said it regrets to acknowledge that a section of its customers traveling on December 3, 4 and 5 were stranded for many hours at certain airports and many were severely affected by congestion.
“We will offer travel vouchers worth Rs 10,000 to such severely affected customers. These travel vouchers can be used on any future IndiGo journey for the next 12 months,” it said.
The country’s largest airline is also facing regulatory heat, with authorities ordering it to cut 10% of winter flights to stabilize its operations. The carrier operated approximately 2,300 flights a day until the outage began on December 2.
“This compensation is in addition to the commitment under existing government guidelines whereby IndiGo will provide compensation of ₹ 5,000 to ₹ 10,000 depending on the flight block time to those customers whose flights are canceled within 24 hours of the departure time,” it said in a statement.
