
The Thiruvananthapuram City Police has imposed night traffic restrictions in Eenchakkal as part of the ongoing flyover construction work. Traffic regulations will be in force from December 10 to 16 between 11 pm and 5 am on the Chakka-Thiruvallam road.
Vehicular movement will not be allowed from Thiruvallam towards Poonthura and from Eenchakkalu towards Kumarichanta on the NH-66 bypass during the restricted hours. Vehicles traveling from Kovalam to Kazhakuttom have been advised to take the Thiruvallam–Ambalathara–Attakulangara–Statue–VJT–Pattoor–Chakka route to reach the bypass. The traffic moving in the opposite direction should take the service road of Chakka, Pettah, Pattoor, Asan Square, Palayam, Statue, Attakulangara, Manacaud and Thiruvallam.
Vehicles coming to Kazhakoottam from Killippalam-Power House road via Eenchakkal have to divert either via Choorakkattupalayam–Thampanoor–Panavila–Asan Square–Pattoor–Chakka or via Sreekandeswaram–Uppidamoodu–Pettah–Chakka to rejoin the bypass. Small vehicles heading from Kovalam to Thiruvananthapuram International Airport have been directed to use the Kumarichanta–Paruthikuzhy service road to proceed via Kallumoodu and Ponnara Bridge towards the Valiyathura–Shangumughom road.
Light motor vehicles including cars traveling from Attakulangara to Chakka should use the Vazhapally–Sreekandeswaram–Uppidamoodu–Naalumukku–Pettah–Chakka route.
