In a tragic incident reported from Panchasheela Nagar in Govindarajanagar, a 26-year-old woman and her four-year-old daughter died after allegedly inhaling gas leaking from a geyser in a bathroom on Monday.
The victims were identified as Chandini (26) and her daughter Yuvi Kiran (4). The incident took place when Chandini took her child for a bath. According to the police, there is a suspected gas leak at the geyser, due to which the two fell unconscious.
The incident came to light when Kiran’s husband called Chandni to fetch her elder daughter from school, but no one responded. After failing to reach her, Kiran sent his younger brother to fetch their daughter.
The pair returned from school to find the door locked from the inside. He forced open the door and found the pair lying in the bathroom.
He rushed them to Victoria Hospital. Despite medical efforts, both died without responding to treatment. Chandini’s husband Kiran works as a carpenter.
Govindarajanagar police have started further investigation.
