The Commission for the Prevention of Honor Killings invites suggestions from the public
The Commission for the Prevention of Honor Killings, set up by the Government of Tamil Nadu, invited suggestions and views from the public, legal experts, social activists, NGOs, political parties, academics and other stakeholders.
Proposals can be sent to hkcommission2025@gmail.com. Those who wish to appear before the Commission in person and submit their suggestions may also do so for its due consideration in preparing the report to be submitted to the Government of Tamil Nadu.
The Government of Tamil Nadu constituted a Commission in November 2025 to provide recommendations and suggest measures to prevent honor killings in the state.
The Commission, which is chaired by retired Supreme Court judge Justice KN Basha and retired IAS members V. Palanikumar and retired IPS officer S. Ramanathan, has its office at CMDA Tower II, No. 1A, Gandhi Irwin Road, Egmore, Chennai 600008.
