A luxury hotel room on wheels? First AC Coach Mumbai-Bengaluru Vande Bharat Sleeper Stuns Internet – Video | Today’s news
A boutique hotel running on railway tracks – that’s what many passengers are calling the first AC coach of the Bengaluru Vande Bharat Sleeper train. A video showing the newly designed semi-express train has caught the attention of social media users for its premium interiors and modern cabins.
A video posted by the Bharatiya Janata Party on YouTube offered passengers an early glimpse of Indian Railways’ upcoming Vande Bharat Sleeper train. The footage shows the first coach of the AC train, which has private cabins aimed at increasing comfort on long-distance journeys.
The coach has been designed with a more modern aesthetic, featuring improved lighting, premium finishes, efficient layout and better use of space. These changes give the interiors a distinctly modern feel compared to conventional First AC cars.
The visuals quickly gained attention online, with many users likening the experience to staying in a compact hotel room on wheels. Unlike the current Vande Bharat trains, which primarily function as seater coaches for shorter journeys, the sleeper variant has been developed specifically for night and long-distance routes.
Designed for overnight comfort
Since passengers can spend 12 to 16 hours on board, comfort was the main goal in the development of sleeper trains. As detailed in the video, the First AC section features improved bed ergonomics and improved lighting systems to help create a more relaxed environment during long journeys.
Some of the expected onboard features include modernized washrooms, digital passenger information displays, CCTV-based security systems, improved lighting in buses and fully air-conditioned compartments.
Why the route matters
The Mumbai-Bengaluru corridor is one of India’s busiest travel routes, connecting two of the country’s most important economic hubs. The service is expected to attract business travelers, professionals, students, tourists and regular commuters.
Nowadays, many travelers choose to fly between the two cities due to the time advantage. However, the Vande Bharat Sleeper is expected to offer a comfortable alternative at a lower price. For travelers who prefer to avoid airport procedures and baggage restrictions, the new service could become an attractive option once it becomes operational.
