Members of the Andhra Pradesh Village Revenue Assistants Association (VRAs) staged a protest at Prakasam Bhavan in Ongola on Friday. They have given representation to District Collector Prakasam to resolve their issues.
They demanded to fill the posts of VRO, Record Assistant, Attendant and Night Watchman completely without notice and provide VRA salaries as per pay scale. About 19,369 people work as VRAs.
During the protest, the members said, “VRAs have been working in the revenue department for a long time with very low salaries. They play a major role in solving the problems of the public. The previous YSRCP government did great injustice to VRAs by not increasing their salaries.”
