A senior constable of the Government Railway Police (GRP) has been suspended for assaulting and beating up a physically challenged person for sitting on the platform floor at Nagda Junction railway station in Madhya Pradesh, officials said.
The incident took place on Tuesday (December 2, 2025). A passenger sitting in the train recorded a video of the assault and shared it on X. The video shows the GRP head constable pulling and pushing the youth, who was sitting on the platform floor, and then kicking him several times. The youth is then seen limping away.
Suspended
The Railway Protection Force, Western Railway, acting on the input of user X, analyzed the platform CCTV footage and alerted the GRP, Indore.
Padmavilochan Shukla, Senior Inspector of Police, GRP, Indore, said the culprit has been identified as GRP Head Constable Maan Singh, posted at Nagda.
Mr. Shukla issued the order to suspend Mr. Singh for violating Madhya Pradesh Police rules and tarnishing the image of the unit.
