A division chief of the Kerala High Court on Wednesday watched the Malayalam feature film Haal before ruling on an appeal filed by the Catholic Congress against a single judge’s order to grant the film an ‘A’ certificate without deleting some scenes involving the Christian community.
It recently warned against imposing costs unless the film contained objectionable content, as the organization claimed. A month ago, a single judge watched the film here. The matter was posted for hearing on December 4.
Meanwhile, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has appealed to a Division Bench of the Kerala High Court challenging the Single Bench order which upheld the deletion of only two of the more than half a dozen scenes sought by the commission.
