Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has formally invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the prestigious Telangana Rising Global Summit-2047 to be held on December 8 and 9 at Bharat Future City, Hyderabad. He also submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minister seeking adequate funding for the development projects undertaken under the Telangana Rising Vision and approval of all pending projects.
Mr. Reddy, along with Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, met the Prime Minister in Parliament on Wednesday and extended an invitation for the summit.
The Chief Minister said that the Telangana government is trying to attract global investment and show its vision to strengthen the state’s economy by strengthening every sector.
Mr. Reddy informed the Chief Minister that the state government has set a target of achieving a $3 trillion economy by 2047, in line with the targets set under Viksit Bharat 2047, and said that the state government has prepared a Telangana Rising 2047 Vision document to analyze growth targets and future plans for all sectors. He added that the vision document will be unveiled at the summit.
The Prime Minister brought to the notice of the Prime Minister the pending approval of the second phase of the Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMR) project, saying that proposals for an extension of a total length of 162.5 km have already been submitted to the Centre. He appealed to the Prime Minister to approve the project, which is estimated to cost ₹43,848 crore.
The Chief Minister also pressed for the approval of the northern part of the Hyderabad Regional Circuit (RRR) and sought financial approval for the construction of the southern part.
During the meeting, the proposed project of the regional ring road along the RRR was also discussed.
The Centre’s assistance in the construction of a 12-lane greenfield expressway from Hyderabad to Bandar Port via Amaravati and a greenfield expressway for the development of the Hyderabad-Bangalore High Speed Corridor was also mentioned in the memorandum submitted to the Prime Minister.
Among the topics discussed were proposals to build a four-lane elevated corridor from Mannanur to Srisailam via the tiger reserve to ensure uninterrupted transport from Hyderabad to the Srisailam sanctuary.
