Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke on Friday (June 19, 2026) appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to provide ₹1 crore compensation to the families of students who allegedly committed suicide “due to the growing paper leak crisis”. The letter comes ahead of the CJP’s proposed second protest in Delhi at Jantar Mantar on Saturday (June 20, 2026).
His letter to PM Modi, published on X, also comes in view of the NEET-UG re-examination scheduled to be held on Sunday (June 21, 2026).

Seeking to alert the prime minister to an “escalating crisis that threatens the very future of the nation”, Mr Dipke claimed that 11 students had died by suicide in recent weeks, including five deaths in the past 48 hours.
He also reiterated the organisation’s demand to remove Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and called for accountability. “The Janta cockroach party demanded the resignation of the education minister last month and protested across the country for our demands. We students just want some responsibility for the loss of life.”

He urged the Center to provide immediate financial assistance to the affected families, arguing that many had taken substantial education loans to support their children’s academic aspirations.
“These families, who have lost the very children on whose education they poured their life savings, have been left completely destitute,” Mr Dipke wrote, demanding a compensation package of ₹1 million for families affected by what he described as a “complex paper leakage crisis”.
He added that holding leadership accountable is “a critical step in restoring the faith of millions of students and parents in our education framework,” and failure to do so “inadvertently sends a message that the administration accepts the status quo.”
“Therefore, we respectfully request that you remove the Minister of Education. He serves at your pleasure and the buck stops with the Prime Minister,” he said. Mr Dipke argued that removing the education minister would demonstrate the government’s commitment to accountability rather than weakness, and warned that inaction could deepen feelings of hopelessness among students and parents.
He also emphasized immediate intervention, urging that the mental health and safety of students should be prioritized and that structural reforms should be put in place to “ensure that no more young lives are cut short by academic despair”.
“Students from all over India are gathering at Jantar Mantar on June 20 to raise our demand. We hope your government listens to the voice of India’s future,” he added.
The CJP held its first demonstration at Jantar Mantar on June 6 before several peaceful protests across the country.
