Jagan promises a bigger role for the party cadre once the YSRCP comes to power in AP

YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursday assured party cadres that they would be accorded top priority when the party returns to power.

All social and organizational activities under ‘Jagana 2.0’ will be carried out through the party cadre, he said at a meeting of former local body representatives, party leaders and key workers from Rampachodavaram Assembly constituency at the party headquarters in Tadepalli.

Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy emphasized that the next two years will be crucial for the YSRCP and urged the party workers to remain actively in touch with the people. He urged them to identify public issues, support the poor and strengthen the party at the grassroots level.

Rampachodavaram constituency in-charge Nagulapalli Dhanalakshmi, former sarpanches, MPTC, ZPTC and other party functionaries attended the meeting.

Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy claimed that the public dissatisfaction with the ruling coalition government is constantly growing and said that people are comparing the performance of the present administration with the previous YSRCP government.

He claimed that several promises made by the coalition before the elections remained unfulfilled, leading to growing disillusionment among women, farmers, youth and other sections of society.

Mr. Jagan said that the YSRCP had implemented almost all the promises made in its election manifesto during its tenure and introduced governance reforms such as village secretariat and volunteer schemes, provision of welfare benefits to householders, improvements in education and health care and increased support to farmers.

Referring to tribal welfare, he said over 3.22 lakh acres of land had been distributed under the forest rights recognition program during the YSRCP tenure, besides setting up medical colleges, educational institutions and health facilities in tribal areas.

He also alleged discrimination in compensation payments to families displaced under the Polavaram project and promised that the YSRCP would continue to fight for their rights.

Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy accused the government of targeting political opponents by fabricating false cases. He expressed his belief that the political situation will change in the coming years.

Assuring the party workers of his support, he said that their welfare and interests would be given more attention when the YSRCP returns to power. “You stand with the people and fight for their cause. I will stand with you in all other matters,” he told party activists.
