
The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has released its election manifesto for Thrissur Corporation announcing a number of development programs aimed at improving civic services and welfare.
The manifesto was released on Saturday by Union Minister Suresh Gopi while Bharath Dharma Jana Sena (BDJS) state president Thesehar Vellapally released his video presentation. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) district president Justin Jacob presided over the event, which was attended by BJP leaders and Thrissur Corporation candidates from the NDA.
The manifesto identifies five flagship initiatives under what it calls Pancha Ratna projects.

The first is Corporation Service @ Home, an application that will provide all the services of the corporation directly to the residents of the house. The app will provide access to services, alerts, guidelines and also allow residents to easily submit complaints and suggestions.
Another is the Pink Bus project, under which the NDA proposes to introduce 10 electric buses offering free travel for women and children under 10 years of age.
The third project promises free electricity for families living below the poverty line.
The fourth initiative aims to provide free refurbished laptops to 50,000 senior secondary school students within the company. The benefit will be available without distinction like APL or BPL.
The fifth project involves a partnership with IIM Kozhikode to launch start-ups across the company. Ten start-ups will be established in each of the 56 departments, creating a total of 560 businesses.
