Tourism and Culture Minister Kandula Durgesh and Rajamahendravaram MP D. Purandeswari on Saturday said that during the Godavari Pushkarams-2027, additional train stops will be arranged for devotees at nearby railway stations. An estimated eight million people are likely to attend the grand event.
Public representatives, officials of East Godavari District Administration and Rajamahendravaram Municipal Corporation (RMC) reviewed the preparedness for Godavari Pushkarams-2027 on Saturday.
Addressing the officials, Mr. Durgesh said that the Nidadavolu railway station should be constructed to provide stoppage of additional trains to remove the rush of devotees.
Kovvur MLA Muppidi Venkateswara Rao suggested the development of Kovvur and Nidadavolu railway stations.
MLC Somu Veerraju appealed to Mr. Durgesh and Ms. Purandeswari to ensure that adequate funds are allocated by the central and state governments for Godavari Pushkarams-2027.
Ms. Purandeswari asked all stakeholders to submit comprehensive proposals for infrastructure facilities. District Collector Keerthi Chekuri and other officials were present.
