Hindu in School Science Festival and Ramanujam Spark Quest (Mathematics and Science Olympiad) will be held on December 6 at Veera Shaiva Kalyana Mandira, Old Taluk office road, next to Shivamogga City Corporation office, Shivamogga.
The event includes an inter-school competition that promotes scientific curiosity and mathematical talent among students. It also provides a platform for students with innovative ideas on science concepts to showcase their talent.
The competition starts at 9 am and is open to students from Shivamogga district.
Science Fest Guidelines
The team should include two students from class 6 to class 10. There is no entry fee. Any bona fide team from the school can participate by emailing mlrcir@thehindu.co.in. Teams must report to the venue by 8.30am on the day.
Students participating in the festival will have to demonstrate innovative, cost-effective working model projects under the Make in India concept.
The winner will receive a financial reward, a cup and a certificate of merit. The first and second place will receive material prizes, cups and certificates.
All participants will receive a participation card.
Ramanujan Spark Quest Instructions
Each school can nominate five students from grades 6 to 10. Participants have to answer 50 questions in one hour and the total number of points is 200.
There will be 30 Science questions (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and the remaining 20 questions will be on Mathematics and Mental Ability. Each question has four options and students have to select and shade the correct option on the OMR sheet with a ballpoint pen. Participants receive four points for each correct answer and -1 point for each wrong answer. If two or more students have the same overall score, the math/mental ability score will be used to break the tie.
The winner will receive a financial reward, a cup and a certificate of merit. The first and second finalists will also receive a cash prize, cups and certificates of merit. Each participant will receive a participation card.
