Mantri Mall paid ₹6.50 crore in outstanding property tax on Friday, days after it was shut on November 20 for piling up arrears of ₹30 crore.
The payment was made in compliance with the Supreme Court order, said Central Corporation Commissioner Rajendra Cholan P.
Mr. Cholan received the pending taxes during his visit to the company’s property tax verification center in Chickpet.
He said the corporation has stepped up its enforcement efforts. “The central corporation has many business establishments and several have pending tax payments. We are doing follow-up on these establishments,” he said.
He also directed officials to prepare a complete list of all property tax defaulters, issue notices to them and start sealing properties that fail to settle their arrears quickly.
