The event got off to a surprise start when Australian batsman Alyssa Healy went unsold. She was the first player in the auction with a base price of Rs 50 crore, but none of the five franchises bid.Healy, Australia’s captain, recently suffered a calf injury during the Women’s World Cup that saw her miss the league matches against England and South Africa. In the past, she also dealt with a finger injury. The franchises are believed to be unsure about her fitness for the upcoming WPL season.

In 2023, she was bought by UP Warriorz for INR 70 lakhs.The auction offers a wide age range. The youngest players are 16-year-old Deeya Yadav and Bharati Singh, while former South African fast bowler Shabnim Ismail is the oldest at 37.Each franchise can field a team of up to 18 players. There are a total of 73 slots available across the five teams, including 23 overseas slots.Defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI), captained by Harmanpreet Kaur, and three-time finalists Delhi Capitals (DC) have retained the maximum quota of five players and have no RTM available.
