More than a year after Donald Trump was re-elected US president, a list of people who donated to his transition efforts has been revealed.
According to a list published by The New York Times, 46 individuals received a little more than $14 million.
Of the amount raised, $13.7 million was spent on transition efforts. However, it was not revealed who contributed what amount.
Among those who contributed were Secretary of Education Linda McMahon, Special Envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff and Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick.
The report added that Paul Singer and Jeff Yass were among other billionaires who contributed to Trump’s transition.
Danielle Alvarez, a spokeswoman for Trump’s transition, said according to the NYT that President Trump is very appreciative of his supporters and donors; however, unlike politicians of the past, no one is buying him and doing what is in the best interest of the country.
“Any other suggestion is simply false,” she added.
The transition team, which was called – Trump Vance 2025 Transition Inc – was registered with the IRS as a non-charitable non-profit organization. It was founded in Florida.
According to a list in the New York Times, donors include Robert Johnson, Suzanne Johnson, Marlene Ricketts, Robert Bishop, Samantha George, Michael Desmond, Susan Silverie, Jonathan Slemrod, Thomas Schiavone, Marcel Kaminstein, among others.
Reuters previously reported that wealthy individuals and major US corporations have contributed to pay for the construction of a $300 million ballroom commissioned by President Donald Trump.
In early October, Trump said a wealthy private donor had given the US government $130 million to cover potential shortfalls in military pay caused by the ongoing government shutdown.
Without giving a name, Trump praised the wealthy donor as a patriot, saying: “He called us one day and said, ‘I’d like to contribute to whatever shortfall you have because of the Democrat shutdown … because I love the military and I love the country.’
