‘Skanda Shashti’ or ‘Subrahmanya Shashti’ was observed with religious fervor at various temples dedicated to Lord Subrahmanya Swamy in Rayalaseema districts on Wednesday.
Accompanied by TDP Politburo Member and District President R. Srinivasa Reddy, Government Whip and MLA Reddeppagari Madhavi offered prayers at the Subrahmanya Swamy Temple in Kadapa and participated in ‘Skanda Shashti’ festivities.
The couple garlanded the huge statue placed in the temple premises while priests showered Vedic hymns (Vedasirvachanam) on them. Mrs. Madhavi Reddy offered to extend all support to the development of the temple in keeping with the growing number of devotees.
Similarly, Chandragiri MLA Pulivarthi Nani, accompanied by his wife and TDP leader Pulivarthi Sudha Reddy, offered prayers at the Valli Devasena Sametha Subrahmanya Swamy temple at Ootlavaripalle in Pakala mandal of Tirupati district. They participated in the ‘Kalyanotsavam’ conducted in the temple and distributed food to the devotees who visited them.
