
A video recently went viral on social media showing a beautiful figure of a roaring tiger created by 2,983 drones that completely enthralled the audience gathered at the Bannimantap Grounds in Mysuru district of Karnataka.
The drone-shaped tiger also won a Guinness world record for being the largest portrait of a mammal ever created by a synchronized drone swarm.
This year’s show used double the number of drones deployed at the show held in 2024. The previous record for the largest aerial photograph of a mammal made by drones was 1,985 drones.

Alongside the roaring tiger, the fleet of drones also produced images of a soldier, an elephant, a peacock and various other cultural symbols of India.
The grand event was organized by Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC) Mysore on the occasion of the celebrated festival of Mysuru Dasara 2025 on 29 September 2025. The show itself was organized by Botlab Dynamics.
CESC CEO Munigopal Raju revealed that this year’s air show has been deliberately sped up, according to the report. Hindus.
“We have decided to increase the number of drones from 1,500 in use last year to 3,000 for 2025,” he said.
Raju added that the team realized they had an opportunity to create a Guinness World Record when planning the formation, as no one had ever performed a tiger with such a massive fleet of drones.
The report also noted that the record attempt followed strict procedures to guarantee official certification. Specialists, including a verification team from London, aeronautical engineers, auditors and legal advocates examined every single stage.
“All the necessary procedures have been followed for the achievement to be formally certified,” Raju noted.

Considerable effort has also gone into ensuring that Mysuru’s street lighting and drone performance work together to create a truly memorable spectacle for visitors.
The trial was held on 28 September, the first of two scheduled trials, the second on 29 September. The main public exhibitions were then planned for October 1 and 2.
