Probationary IPS officers with Additional DGP (Law and Order) Mahesh M. Bhagwat during the orientation program
A one-day orientation program for IPS probationary officers assigned to the state was held at the Telangana State Police Headquarters on Tuesday. The officers — Mandhare Soham Sunil, Rahul Kant, Ayasha Fatima of batch 2023 and Manisha Nehra of batch 2024 — visited various departments of the DGP’s office to get a firsthand look at their functioning.
The probationers began their visit by calling on Additional DGP (Law and Order) Mahesh M. Bhagwat who apprised them about the state’s law and order monitoring mechanisms and related operational challenges. They later orientated themselves to key aspects of policing leading officers across departments.
Additional Inspector General of Police (Law and Order) Ramana Kumar explained the organizational structure of the state while Additional DGP (Technical Services) VV Srinivasa Rao briefed them on police computer services and communication. IGP (Provisioning and Logistics) M. Ramesh outlined the provisions and logistics framework and Additional DGP Swati Lakra explained organizational management. Additional DGP Charu Sinha briefed the officers about the initiatives for women safety.
After training at the Telangana State Police Academy, convicts will begin district training at various units in the state. Mandhare Soham Sunil from Maharashtra will undergo training at Karimnagar Commissionerate while Rahul Kant from Jharkhand will be posted to Adilabad district. Ayesha Fatima from Madhya Pradesh will train in Siddipet Commissionerate and Manisha Nehra, originally from Rajasthan, will be posted in Mulugu district.
