The top official also added that a reward of ₹10 lakh has been issued on Ms Sakuntala in Jharkhand. She has about four cases against her in West Bengal and others in neighboring states.
She joined the Maoist movement at an early age when she was in the fifth grade and has since been active in Odisha, Jharkhand and Bihar. Mr. Nand also added that Sakuntala has decided to leave the gun fight and return to normal life.
The dedicated Maoist said she wanted to return to a normal life and urged her colleagues to surrender like her.
“I realized that our movement is not in the right place at the moment and is not able to move forward, so I decided to give up. The government assured me that I will be able to return to a normal life and get rehabilitation,” said Sakuntala.
