Services were suspended on Mumbai Harbor train services after a fire broke out near Mahim station on Saturday, Western Railway Public Relations Officer (CPRO) said.
The fire broke out in shacks inside the Navrang complex near the UP Harbor line on the east side between Mahi and Bandra around 12.30 pm.
PTI spoke to civic officials who revealed that at least four fire tenders along with other fire tenders have reached the spot and started operations to douse the fire.
Train services were halted on the Harbor line as the electrical supply to the wiretapping device was disconnected for safety reasons following the fire.
The Western Railway CPRO also said: “No risk to any passengers or trains as they have been regulated and are out of place.”
An initial report on the fire by ANI indicated that it had damaged eight to 10 houses.
This is a developing story. Check back later for more updates.
