A team of four officers from the Directorate General of GST Intelligence (DGGI) reportedly conducted a search at the premises of Indra, daughter of Tamil Nadu Minister I Periasamy, here on Friday.
According to reliable sources, the officers, including a woman, entered the premises at Valluvar Nagar, RM Colony here around noon. They left after about seven hours of searching.
Although there was no official word on the purpose of the search, sources said officials left with incriminating documents from the house. While no one from outside was allowed to enter the house, Deputy Mayor Rajappa, who had come there, was sitting on the verandah. The officers objected to his presence and ordered him to leave the premises.
Sources said Ms. Indra owns textile units at Sempatti and Batlagund in Dindigul district.
On August 16 and 17, the homes of the minister, his son MLA IP Senthil Kumar and Ms. Indra were raided by officials from the Enforcement Directorate.
