Several Chief Justices and judges from several foreign countries are scheduled to attend the swearing-in of Justice Surya Kant as the next Chief Justice of India on Monday, November 24 at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. This is the first time that an international delegation is participating in the swearing-in ceremony of the Chief Justice of India.
From Bhutan to Sri Lanka, over a dozen judges and chief justices from six countries will be present on the day, a report by Bar and Bench, a legal news channel, mentioned.

Justice Kant will take oath on Monday, November 24 at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
The swearing-in ceremonies for the CJI are usually held in the morning at the Rashtrapati Bhavan’s Durbar Hall, which is administered by the President of India, reports said.
Who is Judge Surya Kant?

Justice Surya Kant was born on 10 February 1962 in Haryana’s Hisar to a middle-class family and was elevated to the Supreme Court on 24 May 2019.
Before his elevation to the Supreme Court in 2019, he served as the Chief Justice of the Himachal Pradesh High Court.
Justice Surya Kant graduated from Government Post Graduate College, Hisar in 1981. He received his BA in Law in 1984 from Maharishi Dayanand University, Rohtak. After completing his bachelor’s degree, Justice Kant started practicing law in Hisar District Court in 1984.
