Days after facing a blowout in the 2025 Bihar elections, Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor has alleged that several corrupt and criminal politicians have been sworn in as ministers in the new government led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
Speaking to reporters after a day-long silent fast at the Gandhi Ashram in West Champaran, Kishor said, “The new cabinet of Nitish Kumar, who was sworn in on Thursday, is full of corrupt people and criminals.”
“I must say that this council of ministers is a slap in the face of the people of Bihar. It is like pouring salt on the wound as several corrupt leaders have been introduced,” said Prashant Kishor.
He said that Nitish Kumar has made ministers out of all the people who are accused of corruption. “They became ministers only because their fathers were ministers…Neta ka bacha bina padhe raja ban gya (The child of a political leader became a king without education.)…” he said.
“We will make sure that women get ₹2 lakh’
Kishor claimed that the leaders inducted into the cabinet indicated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and CM Kumar were least worried about Bihar.
“They bought votes by transfer ₹10,000 into the bank account of more than 1 million women. Now they have no concern for the state or the people,” said Kishor.

“If I say something wrong, the government can put me behind bars,” he added.
Kishor alleged that the government had diverted funds from the state’s emergency fund and a grant from the World Bank to the cash transfer scheme.
“Now we’re going to make sure that women get ₹2 lakh as promised by the NDA before the polls,” he said.
“Bihar Navnirman Sankalp Yatra”
Prashant Kishor also announced that his party will launch ‘Bihar Navnirman Sankalp Yatra’ on January 15, during which Jan Suraaj’s party workers will visit all houses in the state.
Kishore said that as part of the ‘Bihar Navnirman Sankalp Yatra’, Jan Suraaj’s party workers, including himself, will visit every house in the state.

“Within 15-18 months, we will visit all the houses in the state and create awareness among the people about the misdeeds of this government. The organization of the Jan Suraaj Party will be strengthened before starting the campaign,” he said.
The former poll strategist said he would donate 90 percent of his earnings to the party’s campaign over the next five years.
“Besides, whatever assets I have acquired in the last 20 years, except my house in Delhi, I am donating them to the party,” he said.

“I am now asking the people of Bihar to contribute fairly ₹1,000 per party per annum. I will not meet anyone who does not donate this amount to the party,” he said.
Kishor said he believed in Mahatma Gandhi’s ideology of patience and perseverance.
“We will change the government. They tried to break our morale in this election. We will fight and we will win,” he said.
