
Bollywood socialite Orhan Awatramani, commonly known as Orry, has been summoned for questioning by the Mumbai police in connection with ₹252 million drug case. The summons comes after the disclosure of Mohammed Salim Sohail Shaikh, also known as Lavish, a drug supplier who was recently deported from Dubai.
Lavish is linked to a massive seizure of mephedrone in Sangli in March 2024 that involved a total value of ₹252 million.
Who is Lavish?
Mohammed Salim Sohail Shaikh, also known as Lavish, is the prime suspect in ₹In March 2024, the Mumbai Police Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) busted a case of drug trafficking worth 252 million mephedrone (MD).
Hailing from Dongri in south Mumbai, Sheikh has been living in Dubai for the past three years.

According to an Indian Express report, Lavish was allegedly a close associate of drug tycoon Salim Dola and oversaw the production of mephedrone in at least seven states across India.
Dola was a prime suspect linked to the Dawood Ibrahim gang who ran a drug ring. Along with the recently deported accused, Dola allegedly ran the entire operation from Dubai, assisted by his son Taher; his nephew, Mustafa Kubbawala; his close aide Salim Shaikh, also known as Lavish; and several others who remain at large, some still believed to be in the United Arab Emirates.

He recruited people for the syndicate to distribute and supply mephedrone, a powerful synthetic stimulant, across the country, the official said, as reported by the Deccan Chronicle.
Earlier this year, the police successfully facilitated the deportation of Taher and his nephew Kubbawal.
Police are also tracking Salim Dola, who is believed to be hiding in Turkey after he moved there from the UAE following the deportation of his relatives between June and July this year, IE reported.
Rave parties and Bollywood actors
Mohammed Salim Mohammed Suhail Shaikh confessed to Mumbai police that he organized rave parties across India and abroad for film and fashion celebrities as well as gangsters.
The Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) is looking into other connections of the case and is checking whether other traffickers have organized similar parties for celebrities. Officials have not ruled out questioning those named by Shaikh. He allegedly supplied drugs to the participants of these events, as reported by PTI on November 14.

Earlier, according to an India Today report, Salim Dola’s son Taher had alleged that Bollywood actors, models, rappers, filmmakers and even Dawood’s relatives were involved in drug parties organized by him in India and abroad. The arrest warrant stated that Taher not only organized these parties, but also supplied drugs at the events.
“The said accused had earlier organized drug parties in the country and abroad with Alisha Parkar, Nora Fatehi, Shraddha Kapoor and her brother Siddharth Kapoor, Zishan Siddiqui, Ori alias Orhan, Abbas Mastaan, Loka and many other people and he himself joined them and supplied drugs to these and other people,” reports quoted the document.
Further investigation is underway.
