Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (L&T) and BAE Systems have entered into a contract with the Indian Army to supply the BvS10 Sindhu – a specialized all-terrain armored vehicle, according to a regulatory filing.
Under the contract, L&T will domestically manufacture the BvS10 Sindhu at its Armored Systems Complex in Hazira with technical and design support from BAE Systems Hägglunds, the original manufacturer of the BvS10 platform.
The contract also includes a comprehensive package of integrated logistics support for initial deployment, maintenance and lifecycle sustainment, L&T said in a BSE filing.
The BvS10 Sindhu is an upgraded variant of the proven all-terrain vehicle BvS10 with modifications tailored specifically for high altitude, desert, swamp and amphibious environments, the filing said.
