After receiving several complaints from students regarding the final admit list, Health, Medical Education and Family Welfare Minister Satya Kumar Yadav directed the authorities of Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences (Dr. NTRUHS) to publish the provisional lists before publishing the final lists of candidates eligible for admission to various medical education courses.
This would allow meritorious students who did not get seats to raise objections, the minister said.
After the university recently announced the MBBS admission lists in the government quota, several students complained that those who scored less than them in NEET were given the medical seat.
When authorities investigated the matter, they discovered that a technical glitch had caused the confusion.
To prevent such a repeat, the health minister said the provisional list should be published first, objections should be raised and only then the final list should be published.
Students should be given enough time to raise objections, the minister said.
In the admission process for the ongoing PG courses, the university has decided to publish the provisional list on the direction of the minister.
