KHAMMAM

Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao alleged that the Congress government’s “irregularity” has crippled welfare and halted development in the state.

Addressing BRS functionaries in Palair constituency of Khammam district on Wednesday, he claimed that all sections of the society, especially farmers, have been hit hard by his “misgovernance”.

“There is widespread resentment among the people over the inability of the government to fulfill its election promises, rampant corruption and dictatorial tendencies among the people at the helm,” he charged.

He further argued that the Congress dispensation had earned notoriety by demolishing the houses of the poor under one pretext or the other.

“Hundreds of poor people were rendered homeless in a massive demolition drive at Vinoba Navodaya Colony near Velugumatla in Khammam earlier this year,” he said, adding, “The houses of the poor were razed to the ground at the behest of some influential persons for the benefit of their henchmen.”

Mr. Rao said that the people of Telangana are worried about the misrule of the Congress party and want to bring the BRS back to power.
