Gangster Anmol Bishnoi, a key accused in the murder case of NCP leader Baba Siddique, is being deported to India from the US, a police official said on Tuesday (Nov 18, 2025) in Mumbai.
Mr Bishnoi, also a wanted accused in a case related to the shooting at Bollywood star Salman Khan’s residence in April 2024, is expected to land in Delhi on Wednesday (Nov 19), it added.
The Mumbai police have sent two proposals for his extradition, the official said, adding that several cases are registered against the gangster across the country and the Union government will decide which agency should be given custody first.
Earlier this month, investigative agencies received information that Mr. Bishnoi, who had been moving between the United States and Canada, had been detained in Canada.
He was allegedly carrying a Russian passport obtained on the basis of a forged document, the official said.
NCP leader and Baby Siddique’s son Zeeshan Siddique told PTI that he had received an email informing that Anmol Bishnoi had been “removed” from the United States. “That means he is not in the United States and should be taken to India and tried for his crimes,” the former MLA added.
Baba Siddique, former minister of Maharashtra state, was shot dead outside his son Zeeshan’s office in Bandra on the night of October 12, 2024. Several persons related to the gang led by Lawrence Bishnoi, the elder brother of Mr. Anmol, who is in jail, were arrested in Siddique’s murder.
