PD law invoked against fake cotton seed ‘king’

The Preventive Detention (PD) Act has been invoked against a “habitual offender” allegedly involved in nine cases of transportation and sale of fake cotton seeds registered at various police stations in Mancherial and Kumram Bheem Asifabad districts.

The police identified the accused as Vusa Subba Rao, a native of Giddalur in Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh.

He was previously detained under the PD Act in 2021.

He allegedly ran a fake cotton seed business through a network of agents covering various villages in Mancherial district under Ramagundam Police Commissionerate limits.
