The Telangana Chief Minister’s office has released a number of helpline numbers to provide information to the families and relatives of those involved in the bus accident that happened in Saudi Arabia on Monday. At least 42
According to the Telangana CMO, several residents of Hyderabad were on a bus traveling from Makkah to Madina when the passenger bus collided with a diesel tanker early on Monday.
The Telangana government said it was in touch with the Indian embassy in Riyadh after local media reported that Indian Umrah pilgrims had died in the accident.

CMO Telangana said a control room has been set up at the secretariat to monitor the situation.
“A control room has been set up at the Secretariat to continuously monitor the details and relief measures regarding this incident and provide information to families and relatives,” the CMO wrote in X.
Meanwhile, a 24×7 control room has also been set up at the Consulate General of India in Jeddah.
“In view of the tragic bus accident near Madina, Saudi Arabia involving Indian Umrah pilgrims, a 24×7 control room has been set up at the Consulate General of India in Jeddah,” the Consulate General posted on X, sharing the contact details of the helpline:

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has expressed shock over the bus accident in Saudi Arabia involving Indian pilgrims from Hyderabad.
Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi also condoled the incident saying, “…42 Hajj pilgrims traveling from Makkah to Madinah were in a bus that caught fire…”
Owaisi said he had spoken to Abu Mathen George, Deputy Chief of Mission (DCM) at the Indian Embassy in Riyadh, and “he assured me that they are gathering information on the matter”.
“I have contacted two Hyderabad-based travel agencies and shared the details of the passengers with the Embassy of Riyadh and the Foreign Secretary. I request the Union Government, especially EAM Dr S Jaishankar, to bring the bodies back to India and if anyone is injured, ensure that they receive proper medical treatment,” Owaisi said.
The CM will intervene
The CM immediately directed the CS and DGP to find out all the details and immediately responded to preliminary information that the accident occurred when the bus was traveling from Makkah to Madinah and that Hyderabad residents were among those involved.
The Chief Minister also directed the officials of the Ministry of External Affairs and the Saudi Embassy to be contacted in connection with this incident and to take necessary remedial action immediately.
Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao immediately spoke to Co-ordinating Secretary Gaurav Uppal in Delhi and issued the required directives.
