The annual ‘Karthika Brahmotsavams’ will begin from Monday (November 17, 2205) at the Tiruchanur Sri Padmavati Ammavari Temple. As a prelude, ‘Laksha Kumkumarchana’ was performed with religious fervor at the temple on Sunday (November 16). This has become an annual practice as the priests seek the blessings of the Goddess to ensure the success of all religious events involving the Brahmotsavams.
Vermilion (kumkum) is not only considered a sacred offering to the goddess, but also a symbol of feminine energy and is associated with goddesses Lakshmi, Saraswati and Parvati, priests announced at the launch of the event.
The event was held from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm on Sunday, when the idol of the goddess was placed on a pedestal and kumkum was offered in accordance with Agama traditions. Women attended the event in large numbers seeking Her blessings.
Deputy Executive Director Harindranath, Pancharatra Agama Adviser Manikantha Bhattar, Priest Babu Swamy and others were present.
Meanwhile, the TTD technical department has tastefully decorated the temple and its precincts. LED lighting and floral decorations with various exotic flowers added grandeur to the temple ahead of the nine-day festival.
