Hailing the NDA’s landslide victory in Bihar, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said the mandate reflects the people’s desire for development, welfare and good governance.
Mr. Naidu attended the Andhra Pradesh Reimagining Public Finance Summit as the chief guest held at a private hotel in Visakhapatnam on Friday on the sidelines of the ongoing CII Partnership Summit. Emphasizing the importance of providing welfare schemes, he said, “I have satisfied my people by expanding welfare schemes. You have seen the Bihar election results today. NDA won 209 seats – something unprecedented in Bihar. This indicates that people want development, empowerment, welfare and good governance. With that comes stability and stability will lead to further development.”
Organized by the Ministry of Finance in collaboration with Elets Technomedia, the two-day summit aims to build a forward-looking framework for fiscal innovation, sustainable capital mobilization, PPP-led development and institutional transformation.
Stressing the need to adopt reforms that pave the way for public welfare, Mr. Naidu said his government’s policy decisions have led to development and benefits for the poor and middle class people. He said that policy must be adapted to changing circumstances, citing Hyderabad as an example of development achieved through political reforms. The power sector reforms introduced in 1999, he noted, had strengthened the sector and Telangana continued to reap the benefits.
He further said that the state government will open escrow accounts for industrial incentives and extend sovereign guarantees to investors.
Mr. Naidu said he envisioned a transformational plan for the state through Swarna Andhra 2047. Recalling how he was often described as a leader ahead of his time, he said his early decision to champion information technology — making IT a public policy priority when few recognized its potential — laid a strong foundation for digital, knowledge and power sectors that continue to benefit the state today.
