(Image via Getty Images) South Africa’s star bowler Kagiso Rabada has been ruled out of the first Test match against India at the Eden Gardens due to a rib injury sustained during training, while his availability for the second Test in Guwahati remains uncertain as he undergoes medicals.Rabada sustained the injury during the first session on Tuesday, leading to a series of medical assessments that forced him to withdraw from the match at the last minute.

“KG sustained the injury during the first training session on Tuesday, then underwent a medical on Wednesday morning and underwent a fitness test this morning and was in discomfort and was eventually ruled out of the game,” the team’s media manager explained as quoted by PTI.When asked about Rabada’s prospects for the second Test starting November 22 in Guwahati, the manager said: “He is still undergoing further evaluation with the medical team.”The South African team reserved a decision on Rabada’s participation until Friday morning.Following Rabada’s absence, Corbin Bosch was brought into the playing XI for his fourth Test match, joining Marc Jansen and all-rounder Wian Mulder in the line-up.
