Three people were killed and three others injured when a speeding container truck hit roadside shops and bikes on the highway near NTR Nagar in Nellore on Tuesday.
According to sources, the truck driver tried to avoid the wheel and hit six people on the highway. Three people died on the spot, the driver and three others were injured in the traffic accident.
All injured persons were taken to hospital for treatment. The local police have registered a case and the investigation is ongoing.
Minister for MA&UD Ponguru Narayana expressed shock over the death of three persons in a horrific road accident. He expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased.
The minister wished the injured a speedy recovery and directed the district administration to provide better medical treatment to them.
He further directed the officials to take strict measures to prevent road accidents in the city.
