Congress councilor from Nadakkavu division of Kozhikode Corporation, Alphonsa Mathew, is planning to file her nomination for the upcoming local polls from the same division as the Aam Aadmi Party candidate.
She told The Hindu on Monday (November 10) that the common people are fed up with the three main coalitions, LDF, UDF and NDA, as they are all “corrupt”. “People need a change and an option. AAP is known for its fight against corruption. That’s why I decided to be an AAP candidate,” she said.
Earlier in the day, Ms. Mathew had resigned from the Congress. At least 12 more workers resigned from Congress on Monday after differences of opinion over seat-sharing and the selection of candidates for the corporation.
