Delhi’s air quality continues to deteriorate
Air quality in Delhi-NCR deteriorated to “very poor” on Monday as residents woke up to another morning under smog-shrouded skies, with burning eyes and breathing problems.
Delhi’s daily average AQI remains at the upper end of the “very poor” category, especially in the morning hours. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Delhi’s AQI was 391 at 8 am on Monday.

Currently in the “very bad” category, the capital’s air quality is on the verge of turning “severe” soon. The situation shows no signs of improvement as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) and the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM) predict that the overall air quality is likely to remain in the ‘very poor’ category for the coming days.
How did netizens react to the post?
The post reached many X users who commented on the situation and shared their opinion on the deteriorating air quality in Delhi.
A user commented: “I’m still optimistic. This year’s air has been better than previous years so far. Glass maybe 80% empty but 20% full! 10 years ago the situation was very bad. People have forgotten about the situation in 2016-17.”
