The NFT market has struggled since the beginning of the year, and research shows that 96% of digital collectibles have lost value. Despite this downturn, Pos Indonesia, the State-owned Post Office, is risking by linking its stamps to NFTs. The program aims to merge stamps, such as stamps, with innovative blockchain technology. Indonesia has been strengthening its blockchain exploration efforts and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with India’s crypto consulting agency Bharat Web3 Association in September to collaborate on the Web3 program.
POS Indonesia has launched a new limited edition stamp series that showcases the “Cenderawasih”, also known as the “Bird of Heaven.” Each stamp in this proprietary collection is paired with its corresponding NFT counterpart and blends tradition with digital innovation.
The postal service announced its entry into the NFT space through an Instagram post, highlighting its commitment to embracing emerging technologies.
“As Indonesia’s largest postal company, Posind has launched the country’s first NFT stamps. This NFT stamp is a groundbreaking innovation that combines the traditional value of stamps with advanced blockchain technology, making it a valuable potential digital asset for fine material enthusiasts.
The organization has introduced a QR code system that allows interested buyers to easily scan and order these stamps via the ciphers.me website. For collectors, limited edition stamps will also be available in brochure form, as stated in the announcement.
During the blockchain fair held by the Post Office in the Netherlands and the Austrian Post Office in Amsterdam, they also said they are considering combining NFT with traditional stamps to restore interest in stamp collections.
In 2021, the UAE launched NFT stamps at a price of Dh250 (about Rs 5,706) to mark its golden jubilee.
Although India has not yet ventured into the NFT link stamp, earlier this year, the Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) released vibrant NFT tickets for two trains to celebrate Holi.
In the spirit of Holi, IRCTC reveals the vibrant tapestry of NFT tickets for Lucknow-New Delhi-Lucknow Irctc Tejas Trains (82501/82502), which will be available from March 20 to April 20.

According to its 2024 NFT report, Nftevening said that 96% of NFTs currently have transaction volume, lower sales and no activity on social media.
“The average lifespan of NFTs is now 1.4 years, 2.5 times shorter than the average lifespan of traditional crypto projects. This short lifespan reflects the strong speculative nature of NFTs, in which case the rapid price fluctuations and the novelty of digital assets cannot maintain long-term value.”
