
The Telangana government’s focus is not only to attract investment but also to create long-term value, co-create and contribute to the global economy through sustainable partnerships, said Industry and IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu.
Addressing a delegation from the US state of Utah who called on him at the secretariat here recently, the minister said Telangana’s aim is to move beyond conventional investment-led growth. It wants to be an integral part of global value chains, home to innovation-driven ecosystems and spur job creation.
Mr. Sridhar Babu, who invited industrialists from Utah to explore investment opportunities in Telangana, said the state has become a national role model for ease of doing business.
World Trade Center – Utah CEO and COO David Carlebach led a delegation of representatives from aerospace, defense, advanced manufacturing, technology, AI-based healthcare, life sciences, clean energy, education and innovation. Discussions during the meeting focused on bilateral cooperation between Utah and Telangana in the areas of innovation, technology transfer, joint research and skill development, the minister’s office said.
Mr. Sridhar Babu gave a presentation on Telangana’s industrial policy, investor friendly reforms, sector specific investment benefits and incentives offered to the industry. He urged the delegation members to facilitate the connection between World Trade Center – Utah, Silicon Slopes and Utah-based start-ups with Telangana’s T-Hub, T-Works and WE-Hub. He also suggested collaboration in research and academic programs between leading institutions in Telangana and universities in Utah, including the University of Utah, Brigham Young University and Neumont University, particularly in artificial intelligence, cyber security and emerging technologies.
Mr. Carlebach said Utah would like to work with Telangana.
