Chennai Super Kings have put an end to trade rumors surrounding them with a hilarious video featuring their CEO Kasi Viswanathan and their mascot Leo. As we approach the IPL 2026 cut-off day, social media has been dominated by speculation over the exchange of star players in recent weeks.
Among them was Sanju Samson’s speculated move to Chennai Super Kings. Rumors suggest that Samson, long associated with Rajasthan Royals, is looking for a new direction and may be on his way out of the franchise where he served as captain.
One of the most significant developments in this saga is a potential move to CSK. According to social media chatter, CSK have resumed talks with Rajasthan over a possible trade involving Samson. Reports suggest that Rajasthan’s demands are steep – they have asked for CSK players like Ravindra Jadeja or Ruturaj Gaikwad in exchange for Samson. Meanwhile, CSK are reportedly hesitant to part ways with key members of their squad, which has slowed down the process.
However, CSK put an end to the rumors when CEO Kasi Viswanathan joked about a rumor on social media that claimed he would be traded to Punjab Kings in exchange for Preity Zinta.
The video opens with a popular Tamil song with a Malayalam verse seemingly referring to the chatter around Sanju Samson. He ends with Kasi Viswanathan urging fans and followers of the franchise not to believe trade rumors until such deals, if any, are made official by the five-time champions.
“Trade rumors are subject to mental health risks. Wait for the official announcement to keep your sanity,” CSK said.

The Super Kings are expected to be unlikely to make sweeping changes to their squad despite finishing last in IPL 2025, the first time the five-time champions finished with the wooden spoon.
MS Dhoni is all set to continue playing for Super Kings in IPL 2026. The 44-year-old was retained as an uncapped player last year. He took over the captaincy midway through the season after Ruturaj Gaikwad was injured.
CSK will not have the services of R Ashwin, who retired from international cricket last year before calling time on his IPL career at the start of 2025. Ashwin’s absence will add Rs 9.75 crore to their purse as they look to bolster their spin attack, which is currently led by Afghanistan’s Noor Ahmed and Ravindra Jadeja.
CSK will also be looking to strengthen their middle order after struggling to convert stats into high scores last season.
