The four new Vande Bharat Express trains launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi today are in the limelight as they will significantly reduce travel time. These new trains were flagged off by PM Modi from his Varanasi Lok Sabha constituency on Saturday, November 8.
The four inaugural trains under discussion will reduce travel time between major stations. Let’s find out how much travel time will be reduced between key stations. From south to north, the 4 Vande Bharat Express trains are as follows:
Key stations on the Bengaluru-Ernakulam train include Thrissur, Palakkad, Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Erode, Salem, Krishnarajapuram and KSR Bengaluru among others. Notably, this will be the third Vande Bharat train to run from Kerala. Cutting the travel time by 2 hours and 20 minutes, the inter-city Vande Bharat Express will cover a distance of 583 km in 8 hours and 40 minutes, PTI reported quoting officials.
Bengaluru–Ernakulam Vande Bharat Express Timings: The superfast train will run on weekdays except Wednesday. Commencing operations from November 9, it is scheduled to depart Bengaluru at 5:10 AM and reach Ernakulam at 1:50 PM. On the return journey, the train will leave Ernakulam at 2.20 pm and reach Bengaluru at 11 pm.

“Vande Bharat trains offer a comfortable, safe and premium on-board experience with modern amenities like GPS-based infotainment, bio-vacuum toilets, ergonomic seats, automatic doors, reading lights and Wi-Fi,” PTI quoted Southern Railways officials as saying.
More than 164 semi-high-speed trains criss-cross the length and breadth of the country, bridging economic, social and cultural barriers, according to the Ministry of Railways.
