Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramaraka, Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy hold discussions with college managements in Hyderabad on Friday (November 7, 2025).
The Federation of Associations of Higher Institutions (FATHI) on Friday called off its protest on the fifth day of its indefinite strike demanding payment of tuition fees (RTF) arrears from the government.
Her plans to hold a mega meeting with teachers and non-teachers at LB Stadium and a Long March with students are cancelled. All the colleges in the state and the ongoing examination schedules, which were suspended due to the protests, will resume operations.
This was announced by Nimmatoori Federation president Ramesh Babu and other leaders at Pragathi Bhavan on Friday.
Mr. Babu along with others shared a table with Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramaraka, Komatireddy Roads and Buildings Minister Venkat Reddy and senior officers to address the media after a thorough consultation.
“The associations have demanded ₹1,500 crore from the RTF arrears. We have released ₹600 crore so far, we will release another ₹600 crore soon. We will clear another ₹300 crore in a few days,” Mr. Vikramarka said.
The management had earlier asked for the formation of a committee on fee refund issues. “We have already established such a committee. We will ask the committee to submit its report as soon as possible. We will discuss what reforms are necessary, along with officials, management representatives will be represented,” said the deputy minister.
“Under the leadership of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, the government discussed the matter in detail. Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and I attended the meeting. There will be no college band in the state from tomorrow,” Mr. Vikramamrka said.
He specified that funds related to fee arrears will be unconditionally released every month. He also noted that FATHI has requested the establishment of a committee to streamline RTF matters and ensure smooth disbursement in the future.
FATHI leaders also regretted the communication, which cast a senior officer in the education department in a bad light.
“We did not say that Sri Devasena (Commissioner, Collegiate and Technical Education) was misleading the ministers. Some media misinterpreted our statement. We do not intend to hurt any officer; we have already given clarification on the IAS officers’ statement,” Babu said.
