The four-day State Convention of the Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Youth Culture (SPIC MACAY) will begin on December 31 at the SPIC MACAY Heritage Club in Thiruvananthapuram.
According to organizers, the convention will bring together students, artists and volunteers from across the state to celebrate India’s classical art, culture and heritage. The conference will include art performances, workshops and interactions with renowned artists.
SPIC MACAY founder Kiran Seth, who was recently in Kozhikode as part of the movement’s golden jubilee celebrations, said in a statement here on Thursday that the upcoming convention will serve as a platform for young minds to experience the depth and diversity of Indian culture through direct contact with legendary artists. He also said it will strengthen inter-institutional collaboration between SPIC MACAY branches and expand the volunteer network.
