Amazon Web Services Outage: Several Amazon users in the United States reported problems with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Amazon.com, and Prime Video on Wednesday, November 5. According to the outage-tracking website Downdetector.com, over 6,000 incidents were recorded on amazon.com at its peak. According to current data, there are ‘no current issues in Amazon Web Services’. Notably, user reports do not indicate any current issues with Amazon Prime Video either.
At the time of writing this report, data showed that the number of outages reported on the AWS website has dropped significantly since the first issue was raised. This means that amazon.com has recovered from the short-term outage.
Up to 80% of users reported problems with video streaming, while the rest blamed the website. On Amazon Web Services, the EC2 issue was cited as the primary reason, with 54% of users citing it as a concern, while 31% believed “us-east-1” was the reason for the outage. At least 15% reported an E2 problem.
“AWS services are operating normally,” Reuters quoted an AWS spokesperson as saying.
This outage affecting the e-commerce platform comes weeks after a major outage was reported on October 21st affecting thousands of websites worldwide.
