Dabang Delhi KC won the Pro Kabaddi League season 12 championship with a 31–28 victory over Puneri Paltan in the final at the Thyagaraj Indoor Stadium, becoming the first team since U Mumba (Season 2) to win the title on home soil. This season was marked as the most hard-fought in the history of the PKL with a number of records and milestones. Delhi’s victory was built on the depth and consistency of the team, even when key player Ashu Malik was sidelinedwhile Puneri Paltan finished as resilient runners-up after topping the league table.
Almost half of the 117 games (53 games, 45%) were decided by five points or less, highlighting the competitive intensity throughout the season. 14 games went to tiebreakers or were decided in the final runs, with more than 20 players scoring 20 or more run points in a single game, a new league record. The league also witnessed eight comebacks of 10 or more points, including Patna Pirates’ 12-point turnaround against Dabang Delhi and the first ever Golden Raid in PKL history during Delhi vs Pune Match 14.
Patna Pirates’ Ayan Lohchab broke through by becoming the fifth player to cross 300 runs in a single season, finishing with 316. Devank created records as the fastest player to reach both 500 runs in a career (in 43 matches) and 200 runs in a season. Manpreet Singh became the first coach to achieve 100 PKL wins. Dabang Delhi’s Fazel Atrachali, named MVP, surpassed 550 career points, further underscoring individual excellence throughout the season.
The international presence in the league continued to grow, with Alireza Mirzaian (Iran) scoring 191 raid points – a single-season record for a foreign player – and Ali Samadi (Iran) putting in a superb 22-point performance against Puneri Paltan. The number of foreign players who scored more than 100 points doubled from the previous season.
TEAM MILESTONES
The teams also achieved significant milestones. Telugu Titans registered five consecutive wins for the first time while Haryana Steelers experienced their first ever five-match losing streak. Patna Pirates recorded their biggest win of the season by 35 points against Dabang Delhi in match 105. Bengaluru Bulls and Dabang Delhi celebrated reaching 100 total wins in the history of the league. The fastest all-out came in just 2 minutes 53 seconds in the Puneri vs Jaipur match (86th match).
The Dabang Delhi title was anchored by Ashu Malik and Fazel Atrachali, who emphasized the team’s composure and depth. Joginder Narwal became only the second individual to win the PKL as both a player and a coach, reflecting the strategic evolution and adaptability of the organisation.
Despite finishing top of the league table with 26 points, Puneri Paltan fell short in the final but earned plaudits for their consistent performances.
