Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao has accused Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy of deliberately withholding over ₹10,000 crore in fees, depriving millions of poor and middle class students of access to higher education.
Addressing a roadshow in Somajiguda on Tuesday as part of the Jubilee Hills bypass, Mr. Rao alleged that the Congress government was conspiring to weaken the educated youth of Telangana and undermine the aspirations of thousands of families dependent on the system.
He said the Revanth Reddy government, instead of clearing outstanding dues, was intimidating private colleges and educational institutions that were already struggling to survive.
He further alleged that the Congress government had stopped several welfare schemes introduced by the previous BRS regime, including Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bima, KCR Kits, Bathukamma saree distribution, Ramzan and Christmas gifts, and even ended the free water supply scheme in Hyderabad.
Mr Rao appealed to voters in Jubilee Hills to use the by-poll to teach the Congress a lesson on behalf of the four crore people of Telangana who have been “betrayed”.
