Vizianagaram City Contractors Social Security Association president Bandaru Bangaraju Raju, honorary president M. Linga Rao, P. Ashok, secretary R. Rajkumar and other members on Tuesday vowed to intensify their protests if the corporation did not settle its outstanding bills within a week.
Along with Andhra Pradesh State Building Contractors Association president S Vijaya Kumar, they met senior officials of the corporation and explained their grievances regarding the delay in clearing outstanding bills of around ₹20 crore.
Officials reportedly told them that lack of funds was the main reason behind the delay in payments from the civic body.
Later speaking to the media, Mr. S. Vijaya Kumar said that the contractors will not be able to get loans from the banks unless the corporation clears the existing debt as per the time schedule. Association officials have decided to write another action plan within days if company officials do not respond to their complaints and petitions.
