The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Telangana unit has launched a mass information campaign for the Jubilee Hills by-election with top leaders including party president N. Ramchander Rao, Coal and Mines Minister G. Kishan Reddy, Rajya Sabha MP K. Laxman and others hitting the streets to directly appeal to citizens on Tuesday.
Criticizing the poor civic conditions in Jubilee Hills, Mr. Rao said that despite its name, the constituency has serious infrastructure problems. He accused both the previous BRS government and the current Congress administration of neglecting basic amenities like roads and sewerage.
“During the rains, roads become unusable and sewage overflows into the streets. Septic tanks overflow and cause health problems for children,” he said, citing complaints from local residents. He emphasized that the BJP is the only viable alternative and the by-election presents an opportunity to reshape the political landscape of Telangana.
The BJP leader urged voters to support the party’s Lankala candidate Deepak Reddy and highlighted his credibility and development potential through the representation of Mr. Kishan Reddy in Secunderabad Parliamentary Constituency, which includes Jubilee Hills.
The “secret alliance” between Congress and AIMIM is undermining Hyderabad’s development and promoting unethical political practices, he claimed and pledged to address key issues in the constituency, including sanitation and drinking water issues, and promised protection from land encroachment and criminal elements. Senior leaders P. Muralidhar Rao, A. Maheshwar Reddy and others also joined the campaign.
